Requirements:

• 3 to 4 years in-depth experience with Novell Netware 3.X, 4.X or 5X and Windows NT in a medium to large-scale multi-server network environment
  
• Extensive knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, communication, graphics, and database applications in a LAN environment is required
• Good communications and organizational skills
• Strong service orientation and an understanding of the importance of developing effective working relationships with users
• Ability to work well under pressure, facilitate solutions and meet deadlines and milestones for projects assigned

Job Duties:

• Administers and maintains Novell, Windows NT and other servers that comprise the network
• Ensures that reliable, daily tape backups of all network servers are performed and that off-site tape rotation in conformance with the office disaster recovery plan is accomplished
• Maintains network remote access capabilities for both dial-in and dial-out requirements
• Takes a proactive approach to resolving network hardware and software problems quickly and efficiently with minimal impact to end-users in the office
• Coordinates on-going assigned projects and problem-solving activities in this office that affect the Enterprise Network with appropriate firm-wide Information Technology personnel
• Installs, configures and integrates new or upgraded software to existing network and/or desktop
• Fulfills on-call duties for IT emergencies outside of Firm business hours, when assigned, by responding to pager requests as necessary
• Maintains awareness of all IT problem situations and informs the Information Technology Manager when necessary
• Utilizing accepted information technology practices, configures, tests, and implements functional improvements to the network
• Develops and keeps network and other network-related documentation current, accurate and available for use by other Information Technology personnel
• Develops and maintains efficient procedures for use by DB Network Administration.
